Toshiya Sugiuchi threw seven shutout innings and Hiroki Kokubo homered and scored three runs, leading the Softbank Hawks to a 4-1 win over the Seibu Lions on Sunday.

Sugiuchi (10-3) reached double-digit wins for the third year in a row after allowing three hits, all singles, while striking out seven and walking two at Seibu Dome.

"Seibu had a lot of hits yesterday, so I tried to avoid unnecessary walks," said the left-hander. "I was determined to strike out the batters in the seventh with two men on."
