Left-hander Yudai Kawai pitched two-run ball over 6 1/3 effective innings as the Chunichi Dragons downed the Yokohama BayStars 6-3 to win their fifth in a row on Sunday.
Kawai (10-0) joined teammate Kazuki Yoshimi and Yakult's Shohei Tateyama as the only 10-game winners in the Central League. He allowed six hits, struck out three and walked one at Yokohama Stadium.
"The position players have really come through with hits and I think that's why I have been able to win these games," said Kawai.
