OITA (Kyodo) Oita Trinita have decided to part company with Brazilian manager Pericles Chamusca after the J. League strugglers were sentenced to their 13th consecutive league defeat Saturday.

"Basically unless we change (manager) we're in trouble," team official Yasushi Hara said after Oita went down 2-1 at home to JEF United Chiba.

Chamusca took over following South Korean Hwangbo Kwan's resignation in 2005 and guided the Kyushu club to its first major domestic trophy in last year's Nabisco Cup final and a fourth-place finish in the top flight.

However, little has gone right for Oita this season. It has been hit with a rash of injuries to key personnel and currently props up the standings with just four points from 16 games.
