Hitoshi Tamura hit a go-ahead two-run homer and Hidenori Tanoue put the icing on the cake with a three-run drive as the Softbank Hawks beat the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters 7-3 on Saturday.
Toshiya Sugiuchi (9-1) threw his third complete game en route to his seventh consecutive win, striking out nine and walking one. Nobuhiko Matsunaka, Tamura and Tanoue lit up the scoreboard for seven runs with three critical homers at Ocean Stadium.
Trailing 3-2 in the seventh inning, Tamura connected off Tomoya Yagi (6-1) for his third homer in as many games after a leadoff single by Hiroki Kokubo.
