Outfielder Todd Linden of the New York Yankees Triple-A affiliate has agreed to a contract with the Rakuten Eagles, according to a report in the Scranton Times.

"Once it actually got agreed upon it came together pretty quickly," the Scranton Times' online edition on Friday quoted Linden as saying of the deal. "But it's something that's been talked about quite a bit."

The 28-year-old former San Francisco Giants outfielder has a .231 batting average with eight homers in 270 major league appearances.

Primarily batting third in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees lineup, Linden has a .312 batting average with seven home runs in 60 games this season.
