The Nippon Tornadoes of the International Basketball League have lost their first 16 games in their inaugural 2009 season.
The team, which is a project of the Japan Basketball Academy, has two remaining games on its short-season schedule.
Tornadoes coach Tatsumi Nashida's team is playing all 18 of its games in a compact schedule. It started with a 146-90 loss to the Vancouver Volcanoes on May 1. The Tornadoes have yielded 140 or more points in 12 of those defeats.
