ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) Boston Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka is scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start on Tuesday.
Matsuzaka has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 15 with a mild right shoulder strain.
Boston manager Terry Francona said the start would likely be with Triple-A Pawtucket. Matsuzaka could work three innings or throw around 45 pitches.
Matsuzaka will have a 45-pitch bullpen session on Saturday.
