Chiba Lotte Marines second baseman Tadahito Iguchi has been diagnosed with a damaged left quadriceps muscle after several hospital checks and could be sidelined for about three weeks, the team said Wednesday.
The injury, which was examined at hospitals on Monday and Tuesday, appears to be the result of an accumulation of fatigue. Lotte manager Bobby Valentine could remove Iguchi from the active roster if his condition does not improve.
