Two-time league MVP Lynn Washington knows how to inspire his Osaka Evessa teammates.
He does it by playing basketball the way he did in March, averaging 27.5 points in the team's nine bj-league games in the month.
Washington is The Japan Times' Offensive Player of the Month for March. Osaka went 6-3 in those contests, not a great record or a lousy one, as Kensaku Tennichi's club maintained its place as the Western Conference's third-place team. At the same time, Washington, a former Indiana University standout, reminded his teammates that he is the go-to player on the squad, a guy who they'll need to rely on to lead the team in the postseason if it hopes to earn a fourth straight title.
