Veteran Japan Times sports writer Hiroshi Ikezawa has been tapped to provide color analysis on NHK television's satellite channel for Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.
Ikezawa, now in his 10th season of broadcasting NFL games on NHK, will provide Japanese commentary on the title clash being televised live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
Considered one of the foremost experts on American football in Asia, Ikezawa, a former running back at Sophia University, is covering his 14th Super Bowl and first for NHK.
Coverage of the Super Bowl begins on NHKS-1 (BS 7) at 8:10 a.m. on Monday.
