LONDON (AP) In a race pitting man against machine, nature prevailed.
Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and Olympic cycling gold medalist Chris Hoy had been scheduled to race each other Sunday — Hamilton in a car and Hoy on a bike — on a specially built track at Wembley Stadium, but the race never materialized because of the wet weather.
"I've been informed it's too treacherous," said Hoy, who won three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. "I'm very disappointed as I was looking forward to competing."
