Ryan Rourke played a pivotal role for the Shiga Lakestars on Sunday, helping the expansion team hand the Ryukyu Golden Kings their first loss of the season. In doing so, he earned the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week award, the bj-league announced on Tuesday.
The former Cornell University forward scored 23 points, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range, as Shiga beat Ryukyu 81-75 in the series finale. He also had four rebounds and five assists.
Rourke had a 12-point, 13-rebound effort in the series opener. He is averaging 18.0 points per game and has been one of the Lakestars' most consistent perimeter scorers (16-for-30 from beyond the 3-point arc).
