Mongolian yokozuna Asashoryu got back on the winning track by bashing up feisty maegashira Kisenosato, while yokozuna rival Hakuho preserved his unbeaten start to stay tied for the lead at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament on Wednesday.

Asashoryu (3-1) rebounded from Tuesday's loss to Miyabiyama in typical fashion, clawing, shaking and eventually ramming out winless Kisenosato in the day's finale to gain a measure of revenge for a shocking defeat in the last meeting between the two at the summer basho in May.

Asashoryu eventually pulled out of the summer basho with an injury.
