After watching that cliff-hanging, nail-biter, barn-burner of a victory by South Korea over Cuba in the gold medal game at the Beijing Olympics, I am more convinced than ever that baseball — and softball — belong in the Games.
Both sports should never have been dropped, and it is a shame they will not be a part of the 2012 London extravaganza.
It is clear baseball is becoming increasingly popular in more and more countries around the world, and the competition is getting more intense, as witnessed by the fact the improved China team beat Taiwan and lost to South Korea, the eventual champion, by a score of only 1-0.
