Tokyo Verdy striker Masashi Oguro, Kyoto Sanga defender Hiroki Mizumoto and Kashima Antlers defender Atsuto Uchida have been added to the Japan squad for its World Cup qualifier away to Bahrain on Sept. 6, the Japan Football Association said Friday.

Oguro made his first international appearance since the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany when Japan suffered a 3-1 defeat to Uruguay last week. Mizumoto and Uchida played for Japan's Beijing Olympic team, which was eliminated in the first round after three losses.

The Japan squad is scheduled to train in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, from Saturday before leaving for Bahrain on Tuesday.

Australia, Uzbekistan and Qatar are also in Group A, from which the top two teams qualify directly for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
