Tyrone Woods sparked the offense with a two-run homer in the first inning and Masahiro Yamamoto threw his second complete game of the season, leading the Chunichi Dragons to a 9-1 rout of the Yomiuri Giants on Sunday.

Woods drove a 2-1 pitch from Seth Greisinger (12-8) over the right-field wall to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead in Central League action at Tokyo Dome. Norihiro Nakamura added an RBI single in the third and Masaaki Koike had a solo shot in the fourth.

Chunichi put the game out of reach with a five-run ninth that featured two-run doubles from Lee Byung Kyu and Issei Nakamura.

Yamamoto (10-3) limited Yomiuri to two hits en route to his 203rd career win.

Marines 9, Buffaloes 4

At Chiba Marine Stadium, Benny Agbayani hit a go-ahead two-run double in a five-run third inning as Lotte downed Orix.

Agbayani's double put the Marines ahead 4-2, and Akira Otsuka followed with a squeeze bunt. Masahiko Tanaka doubled in two runs in the sixth and Tasuku Hashimoto added a two-run shot two innings later.

Satoru Komiyama (2-2) threw four perfect innings in relief. Shogo Yamamoto (8-4) took the loss.

At Starffin Stadium in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Eiichi Koyano homered to lead off a six-run second inning as Hokkaido Nippon Ham ended its losing streak against Seibu at five games.

Takayuki Takaguchi had a two-run triple in the second and Kensuke Tanaka delivered a pair of RBI singles off Lions left-hander Kazuyuki Hoashi (10-4).

Kazuhito Tadano (7-5) allowed two runs and six hits in six innings for the Fighters.
