NISHINOMIYA , Hyogo Pref. (Kyodo) Masanobu Tochigi hit a tiebreaking single and Ryuichi Maeda added a grand slam in a nine-run second inning as Tokoha Gakuen Kikugawa of Shizuoka Prefecture beat Okinawa's Urasoe Shogyo 9-4 to reach the final of the National High School Baseball Championship on Sunday.

Tokoha Gakuen, the 2007 champion of the invitational meet in the spring, reached the final of the summer championship for the first time and will meet Osaka Toin in Monday's final at Koshien Stadium.

The Shizuoka school's nine-run second also featured a Shingo Ito bases-clearing double.

In the day's other semifinal game, cleanup hitter Keigo Hagihara drove in four runs with a double and a homer as Osaka Toin downed Yokohama 9-4.

Hagihara hit a tiebreaking two-run double in a five-run third inning that put Osaka Toin ahead 5-1 and capped the scoring with a two-run shot in the ninth.

Yuto Fukushima allowed four runs and struck out five in a complete-game effort. The Osaka powerhouse is looking for its first championship crown in 17 years.
