Yuki Yoshimura hit a two-run home run and rookie right-hander Kentaro Kuwahara pitched his first shutout, leading the Yokohama BayStars to a 4-0 win over the Hanshin Tigers on Saturday.

Yoshimura drove a 2-0 pitch from Ryan Vogelsong (3-3) over the left-field wall in the third inning. Kuwahara held Hanshin to seven hits while striking out six and walking two at Osaka's Kyocera Dome.

Yokohama added two runs in the sixth on a Ryoji Aikawa RBI single and a passed ball by Toshihiro Noguchi. Central League leader Hanshin has lost seven of its last eight games.

At Tokyo Dome, Alex Ramirez, Takuya Kimura and Yoshitomo Tani each hit solo homers as Yomiuri downed Hiroshima.

Hisanori Takahashi (5-3) pitched 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts while Marc Kroon picked up his 28th save. Junpei Shinoda (1-2) gave up three runs in four innings.
