Fukuoka Softbank Hawks manager Sadaharu Oh missed Thursday's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines after getting sick while having lunch, according to officials of the Pacific League ballclub.

Oh, 68, is resting at the team's hotel in Chiba and is not scheduled to be hospitalized, the officials said, adding that he is set to resume work Friday when Softbank plays Lotte at Chiba Marine Stadium for a third straight night.

Chief coach Koji Akiyama took charge of Thursday's game, which the Hawks lost 12-6 after Lotte's Shunichi Nemoto hit a two-run homer and Daisuke Hayakawa added a grand slam.
