Scott Seabol broke a seventh-inning tie with a solo home run and Ken Takahashi threw seven solid innings Wednesday as the Hiroshima Carp beat the Hanshin Tigers 5-2 for their third straight victory.

Seabol's shot to left off Chris Resop (0-1) put Hiroshima up 3-2 and Shigenobu Shima added a two-run double an inning later at Kyocera Dome. Central League leader Hanshin has lost three games in a row for only the second time this season.

Takahashi (8-4) allowed two runs, one earned, and eight hits. Katsuhiro Nagakawa picked up his 21st save.

Hiroshima took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk to Soichiro Amaya and a wild pitch by Ryan Vogelsong before Hanshin tied the score on a Mitsunobu Takahashi RBI double in the fourth and a Takashi Toritani run-scoring single in the fifth.
