Cleanup hitter Takaharu Inoue hit a walkoff two-run homer as Hyogo Prefecture's Hotoku Gakuen rallied to beat tournament debutant Niigata Keno Kogyo 4-2 in the National High School Baseball Championship on Sunday.

Daisuke Ujiie hit a game-tying two-run homer for Hotoku in the sixth inning and Shintaro Itoi tripled to right with two outs in the ninth, followed by Inoue's shot over the fence in right-center.

In other first-round action at Koshien Stadium, Yuki Tanoshiri went 3-for-3 with a fifth-inning grand slam and six RBIs as Kagoshima Jitsugyo routed Tokyo's Nichidai Tsurugaoka 14-1. The Kagoshima school tallied 14 hits to back Kei Iwashita, who pitched seven innings of one-run ball.
