Shoitsu Omatsu homered and drove in four runs and six of the starting nine had multihits as submarine hurler Shunsuke Watanabe and the Chiba Lotte Marines blew out the Saitama Seibu Lions 16-0 on Sunday.
Omatsu hit a two-run blast that gave Lotte a 4-0 lead in the third inning and had a two-run double to highlight a six-run sixth, which featured eight consecutive hits, as the home team stretched the advantage to 15-0. Bobby Valentine's team had 20 hits against Pacific League leader Seibu.
Jose Ortiz hit a solo shot and drove in two runs and Kazuya Fukuura went 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Saburo Omura and Tasuku Hashimoto drove in two runs apiece while Toshiaki Imae added three RBIs at Chiba Marine Stadium.
