Masahiko Morino went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs and Masahiro Yamamoto inched closer to 200 career wins as the Chunichi Dragons held off the Yomiuri Giants 7-4 to post their 4,500th franchise victory on Tuesday.

Morino, who finished a triple shy of the cycle, had a two-run double in a three-run fourth inning and a solo shot two innings later after a Shinnosuke Abe three-run homer pulled Yomiuri within 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth at Starffin Stadium.

Veteran lefty Yamamoto (4-3) snapped his personal three-game losing streak to get his 197th career win after allowing four runs and seven hits in six innings. Hitoki Iwase picked up his 25th save.
