Japan will play with no overage players in the upcoming Olympic soccer tournament as the Japan Football Association announced the country's squad for the Beijing Games on Monday.

Japan's 18-man party is made up entirely of Under-23 internationals after J. League club Vissel Kobe refused to release Yoshito Okubo and Gamba Osaka midfielder Yasuhito Endo pulled out due to illness.

Japan Under-23 national coach Yasuharu Sorimachi, however, played down the absence of any of three overage players allowed for the Olympics in his squad.
