Summer is a good time to get a tan, enjoy barbecues with friends and sip tasty cold beverages.
For Andrew Feeley, it's a time to hone his skills on the basketball court.
The 206-cm Saitama Broncos forward/center is currently starring in the Jersey Shore Basketball League, playing for a team called Seaview Jeep.
"This is probably the best league in Jersey. There are a lot of great players from North Jersey, South Jersey and just a great location here in Belmar," Feeley told the Asbury Park Press. "I think everyone can play and knows how to play."
On Wednesday, Feeley had 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 130-91 triumph over Larson Ford in Belmar, N.J., in a game played at St. Rose High School.
Entering the game off the bench, Feeley, who played high school ball in New Jersey, helped fuel an 18-0 spurt that started at the end of the first quarter and gave his club a 15-point advantage.
"Everyone just came to play today, that's what it really came down to," Feeley said. "This is our fourth game together and we're starting to get in a groove real well together."
Seaview improved to 3-1 with the win.
Rasheed Sparks, the starting point guard for the Takamatsu Five Arrows, also plays for Seaview. He was in excellent form on Opening Night of the summer league, posting these numbers on the stat sheet: 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
