Point guard Yuta Tabuse has been invited to play for the New Jersey Nets' Orlando Pro Summer League team next month in Orlando, Fla., according to Tabuse's personal Web site.

In the NBA's various summer leagues, veterans, undrafted players and invitees get a chance to showcase their skills over the course of several days. Teams' regular rotation of players do not participate in summer leagues.

Tabuse played for the Anaheim Arsenal of the NBA Development League last season. He is the first Japanese to play in the NBA.

Tabuse averaged 13 minutes per game in 2007-08, scoring 4.5 points and dishing out 2.0 assists per contest while coming off the bench in all 39 of his appearances. The 165-cm Yokohama native briefly played for the Phoenix Suns early in the 2004-05 season, and has been trying to return to the NBA ever since.
