Hokkaido Nippon Ham closer Micheal Nakamura will miss two to three weeks due to a right hamstring contusion, the injury-plagued Pacific League club said after its Thursday's game. The right-hander, who hurt it before the game, was taken off the active roster.
"We're not going to use him, so we'll deactivate him tomorrow. We'll have Hisashi Takeda (middle reliever) be the closer for a while," Fighters manager Masataka Nashida said.
Nakamura has appeared in 16 games, notching two wins and 10 saves, this season.
