The inaugural IFAF Junior World Championship will be played in the summer of 2009 in Canton, Ohio, the International Federation of American Football announced Tuesday.

The tournament consists of the world's eight best high school national teams. With the United States qualifying as the host, the other seven spots will be revealed by February 2009 with junior national teams competing in the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

Japan is likely to be chosen as the Asian representative.

The games will be held at Fawcett Stadium, home of the NFL's annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.
