Yokozuna Asashoryu rebounded from a shock opening-day defeat by toppling Estonian man-mountain Baruto for his first win of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Monday.

Looking to put Sunday's defeat to spunky komusubi Kisenosato behind him, Asashoryu charged in low at the faceoff and got both hands on Baruto's (0-2) mawashi before dumping the top-ranked maegashira to the sandy surface with a "shitatehineri" twisting underarm throw.

Chief rival and fellow Mongolian yokozuna Hakuho also won comfortably and made it two wins out of two after bulldozing out Georgian grappler Kokkai in the day's penultimate bout at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
