One-time Hiroshima Carp and Chiba Lotte Marines pitcher Nate Minchey was back in the country this week in his current capacity as a scout for the Cleveland Indians.
Big Nate played seven seasons in Japan and is now in his second year covering the Japanese leagues for the American League club.
He joined the Carp in 1998 and immediately established himself as one of the top hurlers in the Central League, winning 15 games while losing 11 and posting a 2.75 ERA. He went on to play three years with Hiroshima and four more with the Marines.
