Tokyo Apache point guard Cohey Aoki suffered a fractured left eye socket during the second quarter of Sunday's bj-league championship game, the team announced.
The All-Star performer's injury is expected to take a month to heal.
"I'm sorry I gave you (the fans) this worry, and I will try to do my best to heal this," Aoki said in a statement released by the team.
The 167-cm Aoki shot 89.5 percent from the free-throw line this season, making 170 of 190 foul shots. He averaged 15.8 points per game.
