Ichiro Suzuki had three hits in the Seattle Mariners' 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Cleveland Indians and moved into second place on the all-time hit list for Japanese players Thursday.

Ichiro singled in the third, sixth and ninth innings to raise his career hits total to 2,903, passing Katsuya Nomura (2,901), now the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles manager, and moving within 182 hits of Isao Harimoto's mark of 3,085.

Cleveland's Masahide Kobayashi allowed one run and three hits in two innings after taking the mound with the game tied 1-1 in the 10th and posted his second win in the walkoff victory.
