Naoyuki Shimizu pitched his first shutout of the season and Akira Otsuka hit a two-run inside-the-park homer Friday night as the Chiba Lotte Marines beat the Softbank Hawks 5-0 for their fourth straight win.
Shimizu (3-2) posted his third complete-game win in as many starts, holding Softbank to four hits with a walk and a strikeout in a 97-pitch outing in Pacific League action at Yahoo Dome.
Lotte got on the board on a Kazuya Fukuura sacrifice fly in the first inning and pushed the lead to 3-0 in the third when Softbank outfielders Yuya Hasegawa and Hitoshi Tamura collided each other chasing Otsuka's flyball to left-center. Otsuka came all the way home along with second base runner Tsuyoshi Nishioka, while Tamura had to leave the game with a broken right leg.
