Kazuki Yoshimi pitched one-run ball over six solid innings and Masahiko Morino and Hirokazu Ibata each homered as the Chunichi Dragons downed the Yokohama BayStars 3-1 on Sunday.
Morino had a leadoff shot in the second inning and Ibata's homer leading off the sixth broke a 1-1 tie at Yokohama Stadium. Motonobu Tanishige added insurance with an RBI double in the seventh.
Yoshimi (3-0) scattered seven hits, struck out four and walked two and relievers Takashi Ogasawara and Hitoki Iwase combined in the final three innings with Iwase earning his sixth save with a perfect ninth. Daisuke Miura (1-2) took the loss.
