Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Jose Ortiz homered and drove in two runs apiece as the Chiba Lotte Marines handed the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks their first loss of the new Pacific League season with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday.

Nishioka doubled leading off the game and scored on a Daisuke Hayakawa double before hitting a two-run drive in a three-run third on a 4-for-5 night, helping Lotte avoid a three-game sweep at Yahoo Dome and snap the Hawks' five-game winning streak.

Ortiz hit an RBI double in the third and a solo homer in the fifth that increased the lead to 5-0 against Softbank starter Keisuke Katto (0-1).

Eagles 11, Buffaloes 0

At Kyocera Dome, Satoshi Nagai marked his first career complete game with a four-hit shutout and Tohoku Rakuten erupted for 15 hits en route to its first win of the season after losing four straight.

Naoto Watanabe drove in four runs and Jose Fernandez and Takeshi Yamasaki, last year's PL home run king, hit their first homers this season. Yamasaki and Motohiro Shima each had three hits.

Nagai (1-0) struck out eight and did not walk a batter in a 133-pitch outing. Atsuhiro Mitsuhara (0-1) lasted only 1 2/3 innings giving up six runs on five hits and three walks.

Lions 8, Fighters 0

At Sapporo Dome, Craig Brazell homered twice and Takayuki Kishi pitched a seven-hit shutout as Seibu blanked Hokkaido Nippon Ham.

A Takeya Nakamura two-run homer helped put Seibu ahead 3-0 through four innings before Brazell hit his first homer in Japan with a two-run shot in the fifth and added a solo drive in the seventh.
