Coach Takeshi Okada brought Junichi Inamoto in from the cold and also handed a surprise call-up to World Cup striker Keiji Tamada on Friday for Japan's upcoming World Cup qualifier away to Bahrain. Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Inamoto, last picked by former coach Ivica Osim for a pair of away friendlies in Austria last September, was the only European-based player named in the 21-man party for the Group 2 game in Manama on March 26. Tamada returns to the national team fold for the first time since playing and scoring the only goal in Japan's 4-1 defeat by Brazil in their last group-stage game at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany. Urawa Reds marksman Naohiro Takahara and JEF United Chiba's Seiichiro Maki, both absent in last month's East Asian Championship in China, were also named.
