LONDON (AP) German rivals Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen advanced into the UEFA Cup quarterfinals despite losing on Wednesday.
Munich lost 2-1 to visiting Anderlecht but moved past the 1983 winner thanks to last week's 5-0 first-leg victory, while Leverkusen survived a 3-2 loss at Bundesliga rival Hamburger SV to go through on away goals.
The German pair will be joined in Friday's draw for the next round by Zenit St. Petersburg, which beat Marseille 2-0, PSV Eindhoven, Everton and Getafe.
