Sumo wrestlers will travel to Los Angeles in June for an exhibition tour for the first time in 27 years, the Japan Sumo Association said Monday. The two-day event to be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena will take place June 7-8, featuring wresters from the top-tier makuuchi division in mini tournaments. The winners from each day will battle it out in a playoff to decide the overall champion. The wrestlers will depart on June 4 and return to Japan six days later. The JSA announced last month that it will hold the first-ever training tour to Mongolia in August.
