OSAKA (Kyodo) Veteran slugger Tomoaki Kanemoto homered in his first at-bat of the spring in the Hanshin Tigers' 7-3 win over the Hiroshima Carp in a preseason game Wednesday.
Kanemoto, who underwent left knee surgery in the offseason, hit a two-run home run in the first inning off Kan Otake in his only plate appearance of the game at Kyocera Dome.
Masato Akamatsu and Soichiro Amaya, batting first and second in the Hiroshima lineup, each stole a base and combined to score three runs.
