Japan national team point guard Yuko Oga will make a bid to play in the WNBA, sources said Friday. Oga will travel to the United States to take part in team tryouts, including with last season's title-winning Phoenix Mercury, in hopes of making a roster before the season gets under way in May. The 25-year-old Oga, who stars for the Jomo Sun Flowers, drew the attention of scouts during the national championship this year. She would become only the second Japanese player to join the WNBA following Mikiko Hagiwara, who played there two seasons, starting in 1997.
