Shunichi Nemoto singled in two runs in a three-run fourth inning as the Chiba Lotte Marines beat the Softbank Hawks 5-3 in a preseason game Wednesday. Softbank right-hander D.J. Houlton, a former Los Angeles Dodger, had a shaky start, giving up two runs and three hits in three innings at Yahoo Dome. Lotte right-hander Yoshihiro Ito, who is vying for a spot on the opening day roster, pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Softbank third baseman Nobuhiro Matsuda went 3-for-5 with a two-run triple.
