Two standouts share this week's Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week award, the bj-league announced on Tuesday. Osaka Evessa guard Mikey Marshall posted back-to-back triple-doubles to help his team earn a weekend sweep and improve to a league-best 24-6. Saitama Broncos power forward Gordon James had two double-doubles as his club earned a weekend split and raised its record to 15-15, tying the Toyko Apache for third place in the Eastern Conference. Marshall, who played under Division I's all-time winningest coach Bobby Knight at Texas Tech, had 18 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals in Saturday's 77-75 win over the Ryukyu Golden Kings. A day later, the 193-cm performer had a 22-point, 12-board, 10-assist, four-steal effort. Marshall is tied with Ryukyu guard Naoto Takushi and Takamatsu Five Arrows guard Rasheed Sparks for the league lead in steals (2.0 per game). James, meanwhile, had 13 points, 17 boards and four blocks in a 96-81 win over the Oita HeatDevils on Saturday. He followed that up with 23 points, 18 rebounds, three steals and one block in a double-overtime loss on Sunday. James leads the league with 15.1 rebounds per game.
