Japan coach Takeshi Okada notched the first win of his second spell in charge of the national team with a 3-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina at National Stadium on Wednesday night.
Japan spluttered through a disjointed first half, watched by former boss Ivica Osim, before defender Yuji Nakazawa broke the deadlock in the 68th minute.
Substitute Koji Yamase added two more as Japan found its fluency, but the final scoreline was highly flattering to a team that begins its bid for a fourth straight World Cup appearance with a qualification match against Thailand next week.
