The Toyama Grouses have released center Uka Agbai, the bj-league announced on Tuesday. Agbai did not play in the Grouses' road games against the Osaka Evessa last weekend. In the Grouses' first 20 games this season, the former Boston College player averaged a team-best 18 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Toyama (3-19), a second-year franchise, has the worst record in the 10-team bj-league, but earned an 84-74 victory against the two-time champion Evessa on Sunday. In other bj-league news, Takamatsu Five Arrows power forward Reggie Warren was named the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week. Warren scored 40 points in his team's 100-96 overtime win over the Rizing Fukuoka on Saturday. He added nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots in the hard-fought victory. A day later, Warren, who is averaging 21.9 points per game, scored 21 and pulled down 14 rebounds, helping his team beat Fukuoka 93-83 and complete the sweep.
