The Ryukyu Golden Kings, who have started their inaugural season with four wins in 18 games, have signed journeyman forward Herb Gibson, the team announced on Thursday. Gibson, a former University of Michigan player, is eligible to make his debut against the Sendai 89ers on Saturday in Tohoku. Gibson, who turns 28 on April 19, split time in 2007 with the Las Vegas Stars of the International Basketball League, where he averaged 15.9 points per game, and the East Kentucky Miners of the CBA. The 192-cm Gibson's basketball odyssey has also included stints playing for the CBA's Great Lakes Storm (2002-03), ABA's Las Vegas Rattlers (2003-2005), ABA's Orange County Buzz (2005-06, when he scored 22.4 ppg) and ABA's Tijuana Dragons (2006-07).
