Toyama Grouses power forward Jamar Brown has made a solid impact for the second-year club since he arrived in Japan. He continued that trend last weekend, helping his struggling team record its second victory of the season, a 79-78 win over the Saitama Broncos in the series opener on Saturday. Brown is the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week, the bj-league announced Tuesday. Brown is averaging 9.0 points and 10 rebounds per contest in his 10 games (all starts). The 27-year-old had seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot in the one-point win. A day later, he had 10 points and filled the box score with three rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist, but the Broncos recovered for an 82-64 win.
