Yomiuri Giants left-hander Hisanori Takahashi re-signed Saturday with the Central League club for an annual salary of ¥146 million — double the amount he made in 2007. The 32-year-old Takahashi posted a career-best 14 wins (four defeats) and received the league MVP title for the best earned run average with an ERA of 2.75 in 28 games. "I thought I would get a little higher salary, but rather than focus on the amount I want to take another look at myself," Takahashi said. "I want to win the Japan Series and have it (my salary) raised more." Takahashi helped Yomiuri to its first league championship in five years in 2007.
