Teenage pitcher Kenta Suda has signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners. NOMO Baseball Club manager Nobuhide Shimizu said Thursday the signing of the deal between the 18-year-old fastballer and the Mariners took place in late November. Suda passed a tryout in the fall last year to join the amateur club, established by U.S.-based Japanese pitcher Hideo Nomo, and has been named a member of the national team for players aged 18 or younger.
