Veteran outfielder So Taguchi signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, the club announced Sunday. The agreement is believed to be valued at slightly more than $1 million for 2008. The 38-year-old Taguchi was released earlier this month by the St. Louis Cardinals after spending the last six seasons with the National League club. A former Orix BlueWave player in the Pacific League, Taguchi began his major league career in 2002.
