Point guard Naoto Takushi is one of Japan's rising basketball stars.
Last weekend provided a perfect illustration of this, when the Okinawa native scored 32 points in the series opener against the Oita HeatDevils and 25 a day later for the Ryukyu Golden Kings in a two-game series split.
Takushi is the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week, the bj-league announced on Tuesday.
In addition to his 32-point outing in Ryukyu's series-opening 89-81 win, Takushi had six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
What's more, he got to the line with regularity — and made 8 of 10 foul shots.
In Sunday's game, he also had eight assists and two steals. The 26-year-old, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft, has started all 14 games for the first-year expansion team.
